Few thoughts:

Nothing spectacular, but I'll take the two points

Rask stepped up after yesterday

You gotta figure they're gonna start finding the back of the net soon, give the shot volumes

Soderberg seems to be fitting in fine

Lucic brought the body today. We'll see if he can find his offense, but a view from the 9th floor for a game may have done him some good

Pens at Bruins

One thought:

I'm done with Tuukka. He needs to show me something, or else I want Khudobin starting in the playoffs. Zero intestinal fortitude.

Sabres at Bruins

One thought:

I don't care about the outcome of the game. We needed this game to happen here in Boston.

Bruins at Canes

Few thoughts:

I don't care if he does or does not get credit for that first goal. Lucic still isn't playing well. He needs to sit for a game and watch from above.

Claude: "Let's put Seguin on a checking line". Me: "Um, okay?"
Good thing he corrected it in the second. Kelly makes so much sense with 16 and 38

If Chara did what Harrison did, he would have gotten 10+5+2.

Jagr continues to impress

Yes Jack, Staal is a good player, but that whole family is kind of like the Drews in baseball. So much talent. So much wasted talent. We don't need you treating him like Crosby everytime he is near the puck

Game came down to goalies. Carolina goalie actually played well (surprise), but Tuukka kinda sucked

Islanders at Bruins

Few thoughts:

Probably a good call giving Dougie a rest. His play has fallen off of late

A couple of soft goals for Rask, but he made some big saves to keep the team in the game

I know the lines needed to be mixed up a bunch with Bergy and Marchand out, but the way Claude set it up, it was basically like having four 3rd lines. No top scoring line.

Bruins at Devils

Few thoughts:

Finally brought their skating legs to begin a game. And then promptly lost them...

Refs thought that people came to see them

Worried about Marchand. Cue the Habs and Canucks fans saying he deserved it (Updated: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=420442 - sort by lowest rated. I wonder who 'bc lions fan!' roots for)

Canes at Bruins

Few thoughts:

That first Cane's goalie was pretty good

The slow starts are getting tiresome

Good to have Kelly back

Seems like Khudobin's good play of late has caught Tuukka's attention and motivated him

The team just seems bored with the regular season

Few thoughts:

Game came down to bounces, I'll take my chances against the Habs in the playoffs

I don't ever gloat about injuries, but I also do not feel bad for Emelin in the least. Left his skates. Karma can be a bitch

I did not like Claude's line choices. AT ALL. And no Seguin on last PP. He's gonna (rightfully so in my book) catch a lot of heat.

Devils at Bruins

Few thoughts:

There's Tuukka!

Jagr looked a bit slow, but he still had a few really good chances. I'm guessing that's what we're gonna be getting from him

Seguin needs to work on his draws

Sens at Bruins

Few thoughts:

Pumped for Jagr

PP looked pretty solid despite lack of results

I think that was maybe the best Pandalfo has looked all year

Lots of rebounds from Khudobin, but I'll take that performance any day

Worried about Bergy

Few thoughts:

I know it sounds like goonery, but this team needs a brawl. Just not invested at all

I don't care about numbers, I prefer Khudobin to Rask right now

Thank god we finally saw an embellishment call, even though that wasn't the best example. Neither were embellished, but never gonna complain about Ott ever getting a penalty

I can get the breaking the stick being a penalty, but not holding onto your stick isn't a penalty

I still like Bartkowski's game

The Bruins might be the worst team in the league at odd man rushes

Lineup changes were interesting to say the least

I feel like this team needs a brawl or something. They seem to be cakewalking through some of these games. Need a big galvanizing event.

Bartkowski has looked a lot better in the past two games than in his previous call-up(s?). Kid can skate and plays bigger than his size

Seguin needs to step up his play

Marchand needs to STAY ONSIDE

Rask did not look good

I think Brick mentioned it last game, but, I don't have any issues with Lupul specifically, but he deserved his two games. I don't care what Rick Nash did or didn't get, his hit deserved two games.

Pandolfo makes way more sense on the 4th line

The slashing rule needs to be revisited

If a goalie so frequently has no idea if the puck hit him, maybe we need to look at goalie equipment size

I like Paille on the (de-facto) 1st line. Did a good job cycling

Maybe it's the trade rumors, but Pevs seemed to bring it tonight

Few thoughts:

The Krejci line just isn't getting it done, especially Lucic. Need to find a way to light a fire under these guys.

Officiating in Toronto has been, and will always be, an absolute joke

The worst Khudobin has looked this year. Some really savable goals

Didn't get the points, but we all know who the better team is

Bruins at Sens

Few Thoughts:

The PP, um, ugh. Can the Bruins just decline the penalty

I really don't like Chris Neil

Surprised Pevs didn't dress, I understand keeping Spooner in, but I would have sat Pandolfo over Pevs

Fourth line was the best one for the Bruins all night

Why the hell would the Senators try to initiate rough stuff. Don't poke the sleeping bear

Where did Latendresse used to play? Hmm, I wonder...

Krejci really toughed it out, and the Sens seemed to be targeting him at times

For a (I believe) hockey only arena not in Florida, that playing surface is pretty awful

Hasn't been the case so far, but Ottawa can't continue to win so many one goal games. I'm expecting a regression to the mean down the stretch

Bruins at Jets

Few Thoughts:

Spooner looks like he belongs

I'm getting really tired of seeing the Bruins blow third period leads

That second goal is 100% on Rask. I feel like I've been saying that a lot this season

Jets have a great crowd, but the booing Chara thing is dumb

Bruins at Penguins

Few thoughts:

That puck had eyes to get to Crosby on the first goal, but when you're hot, puck finds you like that

With Kelly out, the third line needs a shake-up. Pandolfo just isn't doing it

Penalty for using your hand on a faceoff is such a dumb rule that is clearly in place just to increase scoring by increasing PPs

I'm not a Crosby hater, but he really needs to stop whining.

Bruins D-men seemed to be going deep in the offensive zone more

Well fought game by both sides. Penguins got the bounces (Read: Tuukka not catching the puck)

Caps at Bruins

Few thoughts:

I have nothing to complain about. Maybe a first for me

I think Hendricks is a pretty stand-up player, but he straight up jumped Horton. Deserved everything he got from Quaider

Garden was pretty quiet...

...but nothing gets the crowd going like a Marchand fight

THAT is the Horton I want to see

The caps "capped" their pants when Lucic was on the forecheck

Panthers at Bruins

Few thoughts:

I know Matt K recently restarted his blog. I'll keep posting here anyways in case there is any interest. If people stop coming, I'll stop posting.

Both goalies made some huge saves early on before Bergy put the Bruins up 2-0

Speaking of Bergy, that line just continues to impress

Hamilton was tripped, but I guess that's karma for the bad call on Gubrandson

Maybe it was the Celtics game the night before, but the ice didn't look great. A lot of lost edges and pucks rolling off sticks.

I'm not a rule book expert, but it looked like Clemmenson initiated the contact with Lucic

Jack Edwards mentioned it at the end, but wow, not gonna see an uglier 4-1 win anytime soon

Bruins at Penguins

Few thoughts:

Nice to see that the Bruins brought their skating game in the 1st

Nifty hands by Seguin on that 2nd goal

Khoudobin looked pretty solid again

Bruins were clearly gassed in the 3rd

Since I am a huge homer, I do have to mention, the Penguins had an awful lot of Canadiens in their game tonight. Lots of sticks being "slashed" out of hands. Lots of whiplash. Lots of leaving skates to make hits.

Bruins at Sens

Few thoughts:

Really didn't come ready to play tonight

Nothing could have been done about the first goal, but Tuukka was WAY out of position on the second one. Really stepped up after that though

What is and is not boarding is wildly inconsistent game to game

Huge goal by Thornton at the end of the first. Good showing from 4th line overall

Looks like Kelly might be out for a while. Still not sure how I feel about that play

Flyers at Bruins

Few thoughts:


Pretty intrigued by the idea of adding Soderberg. I'll remain hopefully optimistic

Lucic to Seguin pass was pretty nifty

It's pretty obvious where the Flyers flaws lie, and it's not their skill on offense. The Paille goal was a direct of result of Luke Schenn acting like Luke Schenn. Probably not the best spot to step up in the middle of the blue line

Schenn almost did it again when he stepped up on Marchand which led to 2on1

Good to see some snarl back in Horton

PK continues to be stellar

Tuukka was solid in net. Defense as a whole was very strong

Leafs at Bruins

Few thoughts:

Well looks like a lot of people a lot of people got their wish with Bourque

Seguin has been sloppy in recent games with passes into the middle of the offensive zone from the half-wall that immediately lead to transition the other way. That being said, I'll take the 3 points from him to bring him to (I believe) 18 in 21 games.

Similarly, seems like the D has been sloppy with passes out in front of the goal that prevent the Bruins from getting out of their own zone

Khoudobin continues to look solid

For all intents and purposes, the Bruins have two #1 lines, and I love it. Looking at the ages of all those guys is scary.

I really dislike Ovechkin, even though I bet he's a really nice guy.

Sick of losing these leads. Can we please see a complete 60 minutes please

Looks like the Bruins need to work on their odd man rushes

Haven't looked at the numbers, faceoffs seemed all Caps

Few Thoughts:

Still not sure about the Pacioretty goal...

Healthy scratch seemed to have invigorated Thornton

Subban has all the skill in the world but he still has a tendency to duck hits and pick his spots (namely against people under 5'8")

Chara needs to be better. He didn't play well while in there, and the 10+5+2 is nice to see, but his absence may well have led to those 2 goals

I really like Prust's game

Habs have certainly improved, but they are not in the same class as the Bruins

D was sloppy

I don't like to beat up on announcers (who am I kidding, I love doing it) but the NBCSN crew added absolutely nothing to the broadcast

Dougie has some set of hands

Speaks volumes about this team that I look at a 1 goal deficit as a minor inconvenience and not need for worry. This is a special team

Hit on Seguin looked like it mighta been a spear. Which woulda been 5+game

 Most exciting game of the year

I can't wait for the games this season when the Bruins actually play to their skill level

Lightning at Bruins

Few thoughts:

Another horrendously officiated game both ways

Confused by the combinations Claude threw out there for final PP, but I guess it worked out in the end

Campbell has a brass set

Top two lines really have some great chemistry

He can score with anyone, but i think Stamkos is a bit overrated. He seems to disappear for long stretches.

Marchand just keeps rolling

Bruins at Islanders

Few thoughts:

Tuukka really brought his A game

Another weak game from the refs. Both ways.

I thought the PP looked better, despite the results. Realistically, if the PK stays this hot, anything from the PP is gravy

This is a good team

Bruins at Panthers

Few Thoughts:

Why do the Panthers exist?

That goal by Chara...um, there are no words

The fourth line really needs to step it up. They have been flat our bad lately

That PP goal by Kelly counts, but jeez that was not a pretty PP

Weaver is a dirty player. These guys have nothing to prove to each other, but I'm a bit surprised by no retribution. Lucic play was a penalty, and the Marchand hit was borderline

The Lucic non-call, followed by 4 + 10 was classic NBA-style officiating. Compounding your own mistakes with more mistakes

Chara needs to stop with his habit of poorly timed penalties

The stat that Jack gave that the Bruins are +0 shorthanded is absolutely ridiculous

Bruins at Lightning

Few thoughts:

Maybe instead of an enormous jumbotron, Tampa should invest in a playable ice surface

Stamkos' shot is just ridiculous

Another weak goal for Rask. Plus he seemed to be getting out of position far to often.

Marchand ain't snakebitten like Seguin

If the refs are gonna make that call on Chara at the end of the 2nd, they missed about 10 calls throughout the game on the Lightning

Too bad Horton couldn't get the hat trick, but he seems to be getting his feel for the game back

Bruins at Jets

Few thoughts:

* Jets fans may be the most overrated in the league. Yes they are loud, but given the reactions, they are none too intelligent about hockey. Not saying they're bad, just not worthy of the praise they receive.

* To call the officiating questionable would be an insult to questions. Not that there were a ton of non-calls or bad calls, but the ones they made (or didn't make) were horrendous.

* The game was so close at the end because the refs missed a super-obvious trip with 10 seconds left

* Seguin's got some sweet hands

* Also on Seguin, people need to shut up about whether or not he is physically engaged etc. He is.

* Bourque looked good

* That Paille goal at the end of 2nd was about the biggest gut punch possible for the Jets

* Horton still isn't Horton

* Stats be damned, Tuukka has been great

Bruins at Sabres

Few Points.

High stick call against Bs was just incorrect. Follow-through does not count as high-stick.

Must have been this game, but from my feed, the Buffalo crowd was idiotic. Just didn't understand the rules. 

Buffalo is not a good hockey team. They capitalized  on literally every opportunity they had, which I attribute more to luck than skill

Ryan Miller stood on his head at times

Patrick Kaleta is an enormous gaping orifice, who bitches about his goalie getting "run", gets his ass kicked, and then dive bombs opposing goalies. Class act.

Bruins fall to Rangers in SO

Bruins defeat the Sabres 3-1
